The base material of FRP grating construction uses resin material, which makes up 40 to 50 percent of the total weight. You can choose from the following base materials according to the working conditions: unsaturated polyester resin serves as the most affordable base material, which provides adequate protection against general corrosive environment,s while vinyl resin delivers superior protection against strong acids and strong alkalis in chemical-heavy corrosive areas, and phenolic resin offers outstanding flame retardance with high-temperature resistance, which meets stringent fire safety needs. 

Reinforcing Material (Fiber System)

Glass fiber serves as the primary material that forms the basic structure of the system, with its two main components accounting for approximately 50-60% of its total weight. The grid structure achieves high strength and rigidity through the use of non-alkaline or medium-alkaline glass fiber yarns which create a grating structure by continuous pultrusion or molding processes. The product’s load-bearing capacity increases with higher fiber content. 

Functional Additives

  • Fine Sand Surface: The grating surface receives a uniform distribution of fine quartz sand, which increases the surface friction coefficient.

Groove Surface

We mold regular groove textures or patterns on the grating surface through compression molding. Plane

The surface of the molded grating was mechanically ground to remove burrs and uneven parts. The surface became smooth and shiny, with a finely polished appearance. How to Choose the Thickness of the FRP Moulded Grating

Thickness: 25mm

The 25mm thick FRP molded grating does not have particularly high strength, but it is sufficient for handling walkways and floors for human use.

Thickness: 30mm

This thickness is quite common and can be used in most areas. For instance, if you need to make car mats for a car wash room, sewer covers, stair treads, etc., the 30mm molded fiberglass grating can fully meet your requirements.

Thickness: 38mm
